Dr Ching has sought to stay abreast of surgical and technological innovations, in line with his philosophy of providing patients with holistic aesthetic and wellness solutions.
Dr Ching graduated in 1988 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (WITS) and completed his internship at Baragwanath Hospital in Soweto the following year. In 1990 he completed a Senior House Officer training post at the Johannesburg General Hospital, which included ICU, Paediatric Surgery, Urology and Trauma. In 1991, at the Helen Joseph Hospital, he commenced with a General Surgery Registrar post as a prerequisite to entering the Plastic Surgery Rotation at WITS in 1992.
After completing his Plastic Surgery Rotation in 1995, Dr Ching passed the Fellowship Exams of the College of Medicine of South Africa and was registered as a Specialist Plastic Surgeon with the HPCSA (Health Professions Council of South Africa).
Dr Ching was soon appointed Head of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Baragwanath Hospital in 1996 and subsequently became Head of Department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at WITS from 1997 until 1998.
In 1999, Dr Ching opted to leave WITS to commence with Private Practice initially at Sunninghill Hospital and Linksfield Park Clinic, then in 2011 from Waterfall City Hospital only.
Dr Ching has sought to stay abreast of surgical and technological innovations, in line with his philosophy of providing patients with holistic aesthetic and wellness solutions. In conjunction with Precision Aesthetics, Dr Ching has incorporated a host of in-office, non-invasive cutting-edge facial and body treatments to complement and enhance surgical results by combining the newest technologies and techniques.
He has special interests in Body Contouring and was the first plastic Surgeon in South Africa to purchase the BodyTite, FaceTite and Morpeus8 systems used with Liposuction to tighten skin.
Dr Ching is also associated with CEMMS and has been involved with the post-bariatric plastic surgery of patients following Massive Weight Loss.
