Silhouette Lift

This procedure may also be known as the 'non-surgical facelift', and can be a minimally-invasive treatment that can lift sagging and ageing areas of the face, without the need for sedation or a hospital stay. It can be performed under local anaesthetic in the rooms and can take as little as 30 minutes, with patients usually able to return home a short while after.

The Problem

As patients age, a loss of collagen and elastin in the skin can lead to a looser facial tone and the appearance of creases, fine lines and wrinkles. Combined with a general loss of fat on the face, this may hollow the upper cheeks and could result in a heaviness above the jaw line (jowl) and around the chin (marionette lines), possibly giving a thin, aged, tired appearance.

The Thread Lift Treatment

The Silhouette Soft® (or suture lift) is a new treatment that can address conspicuous signs of ageing, without the use of any cuts or surgery. A fine needle attached to anchoring sutures are placed under the skin in an effort to elevate and lift sagging tissue and skin. This treatment can take as little as 45 minutes to perform under local anaesthesia and can require no in-hospital admission.

The sutures used in this procedure should be completely biodegradable, meaning they should not need to be removed. Their principle component, polylactic acid, can stimulate the body's own manufacture of collagen, aiming to make your skin appear naturally fuller over time, even after the PLA sutures have dissolved.

The Results

The PLA thread lift can gently lift and repositions tissues that may have fallen into the hands of gravity, resulting in a more youthful appearance. Sagginess can be lifted and hollow cheeks may appear fuller while any wrinkles can be erased.

Downtime after a Thread Lift treatment should be negligible, but you may experience some very slight swelling and bruising in the days after your operation. Some mild tension in the areas that have been elevated may be present. Doctor Ching will give you individual advice tailored to your lifestyle to ensure your recovery is as quick and easy as possible.
