Liposuction Surgery with VASER® & Bodytite

Liposuction has been the go-to procedure for many patients, improving contour and shape. The areas that are predominantly addressed include:

• The back
• Flanks and Hips
• Abdomen
• Arms
• Thighs and knees

Depending on which areas need treatment, the operation can be performed using local anaesthetic with sedation or general anaesthesia.

Tumescent Liposuction involves injecting a special solution into the designated fatty area. Thin cannulas are inserted through a small incision to remove precise amounts of adipose tissue in specific areas to enhance body contour and shape as a minimally invasive surgical procedure.

One of the major stumbling blocks to liposuction was how to address the loose skin remaining once the fat has been removed. To an extent, skin can contract and tighten of its own accord following fat removal, like what happens to abdominal skin after pregnancy. This is, however, not always predictable or consistent.

VASER®, combined with the innovative BodyTite Radiofrequency system, enhances results by tightening skin and promoting the new formation of blood vessels and collagen by causing inflammation and stimulating fibroblasts.

What is VASER®?

VASER® (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) is a next-generation liposuction technology that uses ultrasound energy to gently break apart and liquefy fat cells before removal. Unlike traditional liposuction, which mechanically suctions out solid fat, VASER® targets fat cells specifically while leaving surrounding structures—such as nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue—largely unharmed.

This selective action allows for:

• More precise body sculpting and contour definition (ideal for areas like the abdomen, arms, and jawline)
• Less bruising, swelling, and downtime compared to conventional liposuction
• Tighter skin due to stimulation of collagen production from the ultrasound energy
• Smoother, more natural results with reduced risk of irregularities

In simple terms: VASER® liposuction “melts” fat rather than tearing it out, making it a gentler, more refined, and more controlled approach to body contouring.

What is BodyTite?

This is a minimally invasive treatment used for body contouring. It also melts fat, giving results previously achieved only through excisional surgery. Radiofrequency is combined with liposuction surgery to remove fatty deposits. Loose skin is tightened at the same time to improve body contouring results as compared to traditional liposuction.

BodyTite Liposuction: A small incision is made, and an Inmode Radiofrequency (RF) probe is pushed to the location of excess body fat. The fat is melted with Radiofrequency energy and then sucked out with a thin cannula.

VASER® and SAFELipo®  is combined with INMODE radiofrequency treatments to:

• Remove larger volumes of fatty tissue
• Shorten procedure times to enhance patient safety
• Define and etch specific areas to enhance contour
• Revise previously unevenly performed liposuction

The SAFELipo® technique is a 3-step S-A-FE process to gently remove extra fat.

1. Separation of fat using a specially designed “exploded” tip cannula.
2. Aspiration of the separated fat is performed quickly and gently, with a smaller cannula designed to remove this now “liquefied” fat.
3. Fat Equalization – This critical step ensures a very even look by levelling the remaining thin layer of fat below the skin. Fat Equalization avoids a “wavy,” rippled, lumpy, or unnatural appearance of the skin and gives a smooth, natural result.

Incisions heal quickly, and most patients return to normal activities in 3 to 5 days after liposuction surgery and exercise within three to four weeks of their Bodytite® treatment.

Lymphatic Drainage combined with postoperative compressive garments is used for up to 4 weeks after the operation to significantly improves results.

Velashape, a Radiofrequency treatment, is often recommended to tighten skin after liposuction, especially in the inner thigh region and abdomen.

The final  Bodytite skin tightening results are revealed 6-12 months after surgery.

Some patients may need more than a single session to obtain their specific goals, and results may differ from patient to patient.

Liposuction results will be durable, provided you maintain a stable weight and general fitness.

Your improved body contour will be most noticeable once the swelling and fluid retention experienced following liposuction lessen.

With age, the body will lose some firmness. Still, your improvement should be relatively permanent, provided you maintain your lifestyle with exercise and weight management.

Although good results are expected from your operation, no guarantees can be given. Sometimes it may not be possible to achieve the best results with a single procedure, and another surgery may be needed.

Lax skin tone cannot be corrected by liposuction alone and needs to be combined with the Bodytite procedure.
