Mommy Makeover

Step 1 – Anaesthesia

All Mommy Makeovers are performed in theatre under General anaesthesia by a specialist anaesthetist.

Step 2 – Surgical procedures

After your mommy makeover surgery, the incision sites will be dressed. A compression garment will be used to reduce the abdomen, waist and buttock swelling. Similarly, a support bra will minimize swelling and support the breasts.

You will be given specific advice that will include:

• When to follow up with Dr Ching
• How to look after your surgical site(s) after surgery
• Scar Creams to apply to assist healing and decrease the risk of scarring

The eventual results of your mommy makeover procedures will only be seen a few months after surgery.

Over time, the breast implants will settle, and the scar lines will fade, but never disappear completely. These are trade-offs, but most women feel these are small compared to the significant improvement in their self-confidence after surgery.

Call your doctor immediately on discharge if you have chest pain, shortness of breath, or unusual heartbeats. You may need hospitalization and further treatment if any of these problems occur.

Unfortunately, medicine and surgery are not exact science, and although good results are expected, there are no guarantees. In some instances, getting the best results with only one procedure may not be possible, and another surgery may be necessary.

Following Dr Ching’s instructions are essential to the success of your surgery. The surgical incisions mustn’t be subjected to excessive force, abrasion, or motion during healing. Dr Ching will give you specific instructions on how to care for yourself.
