A thread lift may also be known as the “non-surgical facelift”. It can be a minimally invasive treatment that can lift sagging and ageing areas of the face. At Precision Aesthetics, our preferred thread is MINT™ which stands for Minimally Invasive Nonsurgical Thread.
Elastin and collagen are the proteins that make up the skin’s supporting structure, maintaining firmness and youth. With age, there is a decrease in elastin and collagen due to a slowing of production, contributing to wrinkles and sagging skin. Heavy nasolabial folds, deepened smile lines, sunken cheeks, and jowls – are all features that make you look tired and older. Threads, in conjunction with other non-invasive treatments, are one way to restore and maintain your skin’s elasticity and firmness if you’re already experiencing the effects of ageing.
The thread lift results will appear immediately after the procedure but improve over the next few weeks. Although this procedure is relatively pain-free, there can be bruising and swelling. By day 3-5, most patients can be seen in public. The final healing and result are completed in a few weeks.
A thread lift can correct certain conditions, but this is only temporary, and natural ageing will continue. Using the correct cosmeceuticals and a good sunblock will prolong results.
Although good results are expected from your procedure, there is no guarantee. In some situations, achieving optimal results with a single procedure may not be possible, and another operation may be necessary.
Following your post-operative instructions is essential to the success of your surgery. It is important that the surgical area not be subjected to excessive force, abrasion or motion during healing.
