What is VISIA® Skin Analysis?
VISIA® Skin Analysis is a complexion analysis system that provides an in-depth look at facial skin. It takes a series of photographs that analyse your skin’s pigmentation spots, wrinkles, texture, pores, vascularity and porphyrins.
Why have a Visia® Skin Analysis?
The VISIA® Skin analysis provides a visual of the skin and an easy-to-understand breakdown of any skin issues, which include the following:
Spots
VISIA® identifies red or brown skin spots that stick out based on the colour of the background skin tone. Spots can be signs of hyperpigmentation, skin damage, freckling, melasma and other photodamage. Spots are usually seen with the normal skin examination; however, the VISIA® focuses on these spots without interference or changes from camera lighting.
Skin texture
VISIA® provides patients with an in-depth analysis of their skin and facial skin texture and identifies elevated and depressed areas of the skin. By performing a series of VISIA® skin analyses, your provider can monitor the effectiveness of your skincare treatments in improving and smoothening your skin texture.
Photodamage or UV damage
The VISIA® analysis can show photodamage outside what is visible with natural light. UV spots are produced when melanin accumulates underneath the skin in response to UV radiation. By identifying UV spots underneath the skin, one can understand the extent of the skin’s photodamage and ageing.
Red areas
Skin redness can indicate various inflammatory skin conditions, including acne, rosacea, psoriasis, and seborrhoea. Small veins on the skin’s exterior, known as telangiectasias, can be better identified.
Porphyrins
